Challenging World-wide Events in Locations That Inspire

BE INSPIRED!

It is 50 years since Fidel Castro and Che Guevara marched into Havana to start the modern Cuba but it all started when they landed in the Mexican pleasure yacht The Granma on the coast of south eastern Cuba and launched the guerrilla struggle against the Batista regime.

The story of the struggle in the Sierra Maestra is living history and you will feel what it was like for Fidel, Guevara and the other guerrilla's as you run the trails.

The Race

The marathon and half marathon go through the challenging foothills of the Sierra Maestra, the beautiful subtropical mountains of eastern Cuba, with spectacular views of the glistening Caribbean.

The start is at the resort hotel and the finish in the small village of Marea; in between you will run through communities and farms of coffee and mango in the hills to an altitude of 500m. It's quite something to be know that the farmer at check-point 4 was a well known collaborator - even better that they all come out of the farms to cheer you on.
